Went out for a drive tonight with my mate. I was driving out in front with him following in his Phase 2 106 GTi. I think we were both surprised at how closely matched the cars seemed to be both in terms of performance and handling.

Even after 9 months of ownig my Mi I'm still finding I can push it more. I need to get it onto a track and see where the limits are in a relatively safe environment.

Orginal itīs pretty good for roads, but on tracks its not that fast at all.
The brakes are to weak, chassi to soft, no camber, to little pressure on the rear, too little weight/power ratio.

But with some slight modifications itīs very competitive. smile.gif

Ah, Edit: A Phase 2, never driven one, perhaps they are better in handling than the Phase 1? But as itīs even heavier I think it has about the same problems as Phase 1.

The handling is easily improved by changing the front springs and shocks and dropping the rear!

Compared to my Golf Gti the Mi handles like a dream! I will take corners in the Mi at least 10mph faster than the Golf!!!!
