For the benefit of Snave, I thought I'd start this new topic. Have you seen this link to a blower calculator at the Sprintex site:

I had some discussion with them when I was considering blowing my car. There advice was that the DFW pistons at 9.5:1 would be good for up to 10psi. After that, forged. I have no idea if they have any experience fitting superchargers to Mi16's. They may just be generalising on the cautious side.

the Kits above would work on a 2.0 Mi or S16 (most I guess would need the GTi6 sump to retain PAS)

I'm unsure how close the 1.9 Mi is, I believe most of the brackets wouldnt fit, but it gives you an idea of what's involved and its definitely within the scope of someone with a half decent workshop facility, or the right contacts.

i have been wondering about the toyota roots style blower used on the 4A-GZE (1.6L 4cyl) with electro-magnetic clutch so it can be turned on/off...

can be picked up cheap as chips, last time i saw they were about $350 each

place battery in boot and run it off power steering pulley??
