Hi everyone,

My name is Christopher and I just joined the forum today so I thought I should introduce myself.

I live in Copenhagen Denmark and I have driving peugeot 205's for about 10 odd years now.

1) 205 1.6 GTI 1991 (sold)
2) 205 1.9 GTI 1992 (sold)
3) 205 1.9 Rallye 1992 (sold)
4) 205 1.3 Rallye 1988 (current)
5) 205 1.3 Rallye 1988 (current)
6) 405 T16 1995 (current)

I am a great fan of the 205 1.3 Rallye and currently still have two of them.

However 3 weeks ago I got a duaghter so I decided to buy a bigger car for the family.

Yesterday i bought a 405 T16 from 1992. It has done about 140000 km's and had been well looked after from what I can see. It does not have a sunroof and I read somewhere that is quite rare for T16's.

However I know very little about these cars at the moment and I am hoping that I can learn a lot here and fix the small issues teh car currently has.

Anyway pictures are always best

The 405 looks lovely, and the 205s looks nice as well smile.gif welcome to the forum. What are the 'small issues' you mention? Between all the people on here hopefully we can help some!

Hi there Christopher, welcome to the forum smile.gif

I saw your post on the 205 forum and was wondering if you'd sign up here. The T16 looks very nice, as do the 205s.

Could you please enter your location into your profile please.

Hope you find the forum useful smile.gif

I dont think the wheels look too bad! If it was me, id change them if a set of T16 ones became available, otherwise just leave it...

Such a warm welcome. Thanks a lot guys for the warm welcome. Yes I'm Christopher on the 205 forum too as has been noticed biggrin.gif

I think it might be a love hate relationship. Love it when it goes well but hate it when expensive things go wrong blink.gif But lets be positive..

Stuart where do I start biggrin.gif

I have only driven it 3 times slowly now so I have't really tested it or got used to it. I will get some pictures or perhaps start a new thread on some of these issues I guess.

1) Needs a small dent in the boot repaired and a new rear bumper
2) Some of the door rubbers at the bottom of the side window are corroded
3) Passenger electric window switch to lower window doesn't work
4) Air conditioning doesn't seem to have any effect. It was refilled in 2005
5) It managed to stall 3 times today. sad.gif But the fuel was low and I was driving it at low rpm (1500 --> 2500) through the city for a while before. Seemed to choke a little for a second later it was fine.
6) Buzzing sound from engine bay when engine was just switched off. It stops after a while. Sounds a lot like a 205 gti electric fuel pump. Normal??
7) Some small spots of surface rust underneath need to be looked at
8) Passenger door dropped a tiny bit
9) little grinding from power steering on full lock (have't checked the level yet)
10) A couple of electric windows are a little slow.
11) Cracked windscreen

Suggestions welcome

As I said not major. I'm thinking of going to the dealer to have the air conditioning retapped and pressure tested mellow.gif That would be a first.

So the alloys are not popular eh laugh.gif They are TSW's actually. Everyone hates them so far. I luckily also have the original ones. But they have winter tyres on them.

I'm toying with the idea of 17's but right now the bank is a bit empty wink.gif I've seen some nice Mi's on 17's
