Has anyone installed an electronic speedo instead of the old and faulty wire driven one?
Mine was proun to twitching and since this winter (I tended to blame it on moisture frozen over night and melting with some traffic after warmup, bit I was wrong) extremely jerky upon initial start of driving, and then just falling dead for some 30-40 km of road, and reviving to normal suddenly after the next traffic light stop.

Tired of that happening. The wire is new, the dash is fine. The gear on the axle was not checked. But the symptoms tend to rule it out.
