I recently found out that the XU9J4 cams are longer than the XU10J4s'

I am having the XU9J4 cams regrind and fitting them into apparently may need some cutting on the accessory drive slot.

Anyone can help me here? S.O.S

Thanks

The difference between an XU10J4 and XU9J4 camshaft is so small it's not worth worrying about. The difference is only in the opening/closing ramps and not the effective lift/duration. After 0.050" lift they're identical.

You can convert an XU9J4 inlet cam for use in an XU10J4 if you:

a. mill the slot for the vacuum pump drive (if you have one)
b. drill the oil feed holes for the same
c. press on a cam reference tang

If you don't have a vacuum pump then a and b aren't necessary. Finding a spare cam reference tang is difficult however, as they only come with the camshaft. They are not available as a spare part.

So lots of effort for zero gain. I would just get your XU10 cam(s) reground.

I have just bought Catcams item (4912526) with their Nonius Trulock Pulley, saved all the trouble above but at a huge cost.
