I was in Newquay at Run to the Sun the other day and whilst stuck in traffic (having to explain to the police what road legal cut slick tyres are) that touring car replica that was on ebay a year ago drove past.

I know the bloke got a bit of a slating on the PSOOC for it still only having the 160bhp standard engine but i have to admit that the thing looked fantastic. Fair go to the chap for building such a spot on accurate replica.

Slated for only having the 160bhp engine??! I dunno, some people eh! It's not as if it's the short lived 1.4 405 lol!

Unfortunately I didn't think Mr Copper would have appreciated a break in our discussion while i took a couple of photos. Massive shame because it's the most impressed i've ever been when i've seen a 405. Gutted!!

A few of my mates saw it parked up but being VW people didn't feel the need to take any photos.

Got me thinking now. I'm fairly sure that isn't the one. The one i saw had graphics identical to the touring car and even the rear wing was identical.

The one posted doesn't look anything like it should. A bit naff in my eyes, especailly the alloys. Each to their own I suppose.
