Guys,

Does anyone know if you can fit a GTI6 baffled sump to a XU9J4, trying to void any oil starvation, anybody attempted this?

Cheers
Furio
Had a look at the sparepart numeber - there is no apparent equal. So I don't think that would be possible. The look also completely different.

yeap, should fit fine, not sure how different the depth of the sump is though.

just because the part number is different doesn't mean it wont fit...

Yes, you can fit the GTi6 sump instead of the Mi16 sump and spacer plate. This means you'll loose the stiffening factor provided by the spacer plate. The best idea is to fit both the spacer plate and the GTi6 sump, along with something like one of my pump extensions. See here: http://www.taylor-eng.com/sump/wetsump.htm

I have got a baffled sump from a gti6 engine that I ran on a xu5 1600 engine that span a bearing on crank.

Now I am not sure if it was just bad luck or something to do with the gti 6 baffled sump.

Has anyone had any experience with running this kind of sump on the XU engine?

Or know anything about them

Thanks for looking

There were several key improvements in the XU10 over the XU5/XU9. You need to use all of them as they all work in different ways:

- baffled sump
- windage tray
- pump speed
- pump baffle
- chain guard
- relief pressure spring

An XU5 engine is no different to an XU9 and will fail the same way.

Peugeot part numbers for the sprocket, chain and spring are:

Chain - 103310
Sprocket - 0513.54
Spring - 1157.11
