I've just bought a new house and the 405 doesn't fit on the drive! So I think I'm going to sell up as there is no way I'm parking it on the road, it would be stolen or damaged I'm sure within a short space of time sad.gif

The car has loads of new parts, rebuilt engine, rebuilt gearbox, compomotive MO wheels with brand new tyres etc etc. The only thing letting it down is the bodywork, its got dents, different shade of red panels where some have been sprayed, the rear panel has been pushed in and things like that. So if I sell it as a whole then I'm sure it would'nt be worth very much, and the new owner would most likely buy it for the engine and box and strip it anyway, but in bits it will be worth quite a bit more. I really don't want to break another 405 but don't think I've got much choice

So my dilemma is do I strip it and sell the bits, or sell it as a whole, any advice welcomed please.

On the plus side, a 309 fits on the drive so looks like I'll be buying one of those so I can still have a Pug smile.gif

ohmy.gif Don't sell!!

Or at least try and sell as a whole, but i know where you're coming from, in reality it's just probably worth more in bits unfortunately! sad.gif

That is unfortunatly the dilemma of being an mi16 owner ...The cars , however much you might have spent on it , are worthless , always have been , always will be ... god love them laugh.gif
This dilemma will test your real appreciation of the car... What it sounds like though is you need someone to ease your conscience and tell you to strip it ....hard times and all that ..so my advice is , if you need the money to fund your next car is ...strip it as it wont , with tatty bodywork be worth much ..... sad.gif

I know, I really want to keep it but it's just not practical. There are quite a few 405 specific upgrades on there too, which would just get scrapped along with the shell if someone bought the whole thing just for the engine and box sad.gif

Why didn't you buy house with big enough drive.
I recently moved and only did so with the knowledge that the house had either a garage or large drive for the MI. The drive has enough room for 3 MIs an enough room to get into the back garden with more if i wanted. rolleyes.gif

It would be nice if I could have chosen a house with a big drive and garage, but as I'm buying it on my own I cant have that luxury of choosing somewhere that big

I think I have worked out a way that I might be able to keep the 405 biggrin.gif I think I might be able to take a sledgehammer to the wall thats stopping me getting the 405 on the drive. I'll lose a bit of garden but I don't care as long as I can keep the car smile.gif
