just got my copy of this months ppc and there is a letter from a chap wanting to fit a v6 into a 405... the back of a 405!!

i thought there answer was abit crap and if you would like to talk about it then this is the place to do it!

edit- my opinion is do it, but put it in the front! or front engine rwd? its to heavy for it to wor in the rear and i'd imagine it to be an understeer monster or wheelie machine!!

I haven't seen the article but I don't think it would go well in the back either, I dont think Rear engine Rear wheel drive setup would suit the 405. FF, FR or MR (and 4x4) would be what I would suggest.

I notice you already have a 405 with a V6 in the front, how does it go, stop and handle? I have a 205 with a v6 in the front and its ace, I can only think it would be better in a slightly larger car as it would suit it better, maybe a 309 rather then a 405 though...

On the other hand, it's nice to see someone wanting to do something different but I expect it would be a never ending project that would end up being broken for parts if he were to attempt putting it in the back.

Front engine, rear wheel drive would be the best.
The V6 engine just suits the 405 great, i would love to have one or even drive one just for 1 time.
