does any body agree with the better acceleration??, 215/45/r17 dunlop, i noticed better acceleration after i replaced r14 wheels with the r17 ones
That's not correct.
The larger diameter wheels would prevent quicker acceleration.
Maybe your window was open & the breeze made it seem faster!

What really does help better accelerate is a nice car wash. Once you wash your car, it not only accelerates 37,3% faster, it also corners and stops much much better as well!
the wider tyre would help grip helping acceleration but as said above, the larger diameter wheels would actually slow you down.
out of interest what offset are the wheels and is it lowered?

Maybe the balloons that were on the old 14" wheels were causing more drag.

Unless you are losing traction on take off with the norrower tyre, I would have thought the extra rolling resistance of the wider rubber would also be bad?

+1 absolutely agree. the only reason to use a fat tyre is to keep traction when a narrower tyre would just spin. for that reason you would need a LOT more torque than is in a stock engine.
i suggest that you keep the tyre dimensions similar to stock recommendations and increase based on the increase in power. albeit fatter tyres with lower height will help braking and handling.

no, the car is on standard height, and the tire is 215 wide but it doesn't look like 215, it looks like 205, 215/45/r17

no, the car is on standard height, and the tire is 215 wide but it doesn't look like 215, it looks like 205, 215/45/r17

so what's ur advice???, roadfs here are bumpy so thats why i didn't lower it.....
does the 17 inch size give false km reading?? because it seems to feel faster than the km speedometer reading on the dash board

Yes it does. For your size tyres it will be abount 6% error, meaning that when going 100kmh on the dash, in reality you would be doing about 106 kmh.

Bear in mind the speedo will have probably been slightly over-reading from the factory, so maybe it will be perfectly correct now
