as the topic says and the description denotes. my mum has a citroen berligo desire people carrier tu5jp4 110 bhp and when coming out of full lock and trying to boot it the thing jumps out of first gear. does anybody have any ideas why it does this ? obviously something is worn but where do i start ive also noticed a clunking sound from the p/s when going over bumps could this be part of the problem. and one more for ya! my mum cant drive this thing every time she pulls off from junctions she lights up the tires or otherwise she creeps away like a snail is there any other boxes that can be use to sort out the ratios so its not so fierce.

1/2 syncro needs replacing. Clunking over bumps will be the lower control arms. Same as 306 items. Berlingo's have a 5. somthing final drive. You could try a different fd out of a 206 or 307 ma box.

thanks for reply james much appreciated. could i just use the full box instead of going to all the trouble of swip swapping? and by 1/2 im guessing you mean 1st and 2nd syncro?

Yep 1st/2nd syncro, also check the syncro fork for wear and the input shaft bearing (this will almost definatly require replacement as the cage fails, aswell as the input shaft seal). Yes you could use another whole box, as swaping a ma fd means taking the whole box apart. Just check shift mechanism and clutch control is the same.

I'm abit to lazy to work it out from the info off servicebox. You may find somthing between 3.5-4.11 which would be an inprovement. But in all honesty it may be easier to just give you mum some clutch control lessons. The thing mite be abit of a slug loaded up and with a lower fd.

lol. its not the clutch shes having issues with she cant get any grip when she puts the power down. even ive had trouble when i test drove the thing i found it easier to short shift to second then hit the gas but the old dear is hittin 55 this year and she aint the best at quick changes i think its the change of motor as the previous car was 1.8 focus diesel turbo.
