Hey all, Im really annoyed at finding no info on what the Mi16 produces at the wheels instead of bhp off the flywheel. I find it annoying as so many think thats what the car actually produces. So im asking if anyone has ever dynoed or know of someone who has dynoed a 405 mi16 and what was the Real World power output at the wheels.
Thanks

when i had mine rolling roaded a couple of years ago it was producing 161 at the flwheel and 122 at the wheels as to how acurate these figures are i dont know as you can get a large variation from different dynos

Aust spec XU9J4Z (145-148 hp) engines produce about 83-85 kw (114-116hp) at the wheels.

Here's some real numbers for you. The engine was essentially a "new" XU9J4Z. ie it was reco'd with new OE piston/liner kit. It was originally fitted with an offset key on the inlet (advanced) which would have taken a few kW's off the top end but added a heap of torque. It was then fitted with one of my Stage I cams which lifted the power to 84kW.
By comparison, my Stage I cam and 10.8:1 gives 92kW, which is also the limit of the std. injectors.
Note the torque is "wheel torque", not flywheel.

Just realised that's wrong about the injectors. The same engine, developed a bit further, gave 101kW. That was the limit, thus approx. 185hp.
