That program wouldn't convert the whole clip. Grr I hate tight-assed pc utilities lol. I need to find something that works. I wonder if nero would do it??

http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ - from this link you will find a very useful bit of software (DVD Decrypter) that will let you rip and decode the contents of the dvd.

Then go to http://www.autogk.me.uk/ and download the latest version. Again a very nice bit of software that will let you convert .vob files to .avi

If you just want to extract a part of the dvd for conversion you could use http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html which basically lets you author your own dvd's and stuff. Not used this much myself but it might help!

These are all free bits of software and very very useful, and they should do the trick cos i'm also very interested to see Top Gears take on the Mi16.

Thanks Alex but the problem is every utility I use seems to report some sort of problem with the DVD thast contains the Top Gear clip. Not sure what to do about it now.

What problem does it report? Is it just that the DVD is scratched or is there a problem with the disc itself. It would be a shame not to be able to see it, i guess the DVD is pretty rare now or can you still buy it?

I recorded it off tv. I think it's the method in which my stand alone dvd player recorded it because the disc isn't scratched. I've not given up though.
To be honest I think you'll be disappointed because it's not even a feature on the Mi16. It's a 1 minute clip of Richard Hammond saying "Should the 405 Mi16 be on the cool wall?".
