I changed the front brake pads this afternoon and noticed that when I jacked up the nearside front corner the nearside rear tyre was still just touching the driveway but when I jacked up the offside front corner the offside rear tyre was at least a cm off the drive.

What's the reason for this then? Has the trailing arm seized on the offside or is it caused by something else such as uneven handbrake??

Could be something simple like weight distrubution or as you say maybe one trailing arm is slightly tighter than the other.

I've seen it loads of times on different cars.
Unless handling or anything is messed up I wouldn't worry.

Yeah I guess it's not really that important, rear beam ought not to be seized as it was done a few years back.

Im going to give a totally random guess of:

Level your drive way mate haha.
Nothing to worry about, happens nearley everytime i jack the rear of a car up. Due to how the cars distribution is at the time of jacking one side is always going to be lower/higher than the other.

Yeah the drive is on an incline, which makes for some very interesting situations when jacking up a car.
