Does somebody have measures of oil dipstick for mi16 1.9? I think few years allready, I am using the wrong one from the other models. They should be longer so it shows higher oil level.
Measure from bottom till where the plastic fills the tube would be appropriate I think( not the plastic that is outside)
Thank you in advance

Good question mate, I had two dipsticks to choose from and guessed at the right one, and luckily I got the right one

Thanks, mine(the supposed wrong one) is 503,5 mm. 1 l of oil is
23, 00 mm, so this small difference would mean 0,14 dl. I found on internet (some forum), that it measures 490,54 mm and that difference would mean more than 0,5 l! It would mean that I was constantly driving with 1/2 less oil than I thought.

It's common for main dealers to give you the dipstick for the 8 valve engine which is like a helter skelter with lots of twists. The Mi16 one has just one twist.

Is the 8v one longer than the Mi one? I'd imagine it was as it comes out the back by the top of the rocker cover.

I've found that citroen dealers are the best bet. They give you the right one if you order one for a BX 16V, while pug dealers get it wrong probably 95% of the time and give you the one for either a 2.0 16V, or a 1.9 8v.

Agree with the above. Got one from Citroen for the BX 16v engine on 1/11/08, part number is C117299 and cost £9.02 incl VAT, which is cheaper than e bay. It has a yellow top and measures about 502mm from the bit of the handle that rests on the tube. Single twist on the metal bit.
Handles go brittle with time and tend to fall apart. Important to keep a good seal for the slight negative pressure.
