I know Cybernck has one.

How many 405 T16's are still left and intact? I've heard of many being wrecked and dismantled for the motor. There was 400 produced right? 1993 was the first year?
KRISKARRERA
And some other chap Cybernck knows. And a Matt and one other chap in the uk. At least. I'm being a bit vague here lol.

A bit of info on this website: http://www.puginfo.co.uk/405/405T16.htm but that's a bit out of date now.

My very rough guess that there are 300-500 405T16 left.
There are about 50 of T16 owners on "international" T16 forum and about 100 more on french T16 forum....
In Croatia there are 6 T16s and one of them was stripped and engine and drivetrain was put into 406 coupe unsure.gif
In my town there are 3 and I have 2 smile.gif

....1046 T16 were produced. This number includes all the test versions and 10 cars that French police got.

Année millésime 92 : 42 véhicules
Année millésime 93 : 598 "
Année millésime 94 : 326 "
Année millésime 95 : 80 véhicules dont 10 pour la gendarmerie.

Is an awesome engine when put in the 306 though. I still dont think a T16 205 is worth the effort due to the small wheelbase.
piran21
I think it should just stay put in the 405 T16, but that's my opinion. Upgrade the turbocharger and be fast!

But there's no advantage over the 405, it's not gonna weigh any less.
RobMGti
The advantage is the 306 is a more modern car as any phases can be used for the conversion - 2001 car. When did they stop making the 405?
KRISKARRERA
I think the last 405 saloons were in either 95 or 96 but I like the 405, it's not as if a 2001 306 is light years ahead of a phase 2 405. I'd like to see what a 405 2 litre mi16 converted to 2wd 405 T16 would be like. I know the handling and grip wouldn't be as good but it'd be alot lighter and there's been plenty of FWD 200+bhp cars in recent times.

Plus, unlike Ecosse's 306, it probably wouldn't look like a Ripspeed branch had shat all over it! dry.gif laugh.gif

Nah, keep the 4wd.

It'd be nice to import a T16 to Canada. I have to wait till 2008 I guess. Hopefully someone will be selling one then.
BazGTMi
Hmm, more than i thought! What are the prices like? You can find a few every now and then on french ebay, but prices seem to be all over the place, and it'd take a bit to import one over here. I'd be willing to if i could get one fairly good priced and if it doesn't take much to bring it back to UK. biggrin.gif
oliviertr
they is some T16s for sale on my Site and more in my Forum wink.gif

I always thought the 306 was heavier than a ph1 405?
KRISKARRERA
Yup so that's why there no advantage to moving a T16 to a 306 shell.
