Could people post up their pics of different wheels fitted to 405's please. I'm trying to work out which wheels look good and which to avoid. I was thinking about the later 206 GTi 16's to put on mine. Cheers

hmm not too sure about those

.
Click to view attachmentmaybe they would look better with the required 10mm spacers (ET28 -> ET18).
does anyone have pics of 405 on:
- OZ Chrono
- OZ Superleggera
- Compomotive MO
- Arospeed RSGT
?

Here's a nice June 1992 405 Mi16 with the knock sensor. Yes, the later engine management. And what do I do?! Yes I killed it for a bloody 309!!!!!!!!!! I deserve a slap for that.
Anyway this is with the speedline alloys from the 205/309 GTI. They look a bit cack BUT they stick out 10mm more than standard Mi16 alloys so when viewed from behind it gives the car a better looking stance.

Totally agree there BUT is it a case of those rims looking good cos they match the paint of the cars they're bolted to?

http://www.peugeot405club.nl/view_profiel.phpThere are even a lot of people with 406 rims on there car. I haven't seen any 206GTI rims on a 405 but this should give you a problem.

Just found a 405 on eBay with different wheels on which I think really suit the car, but I'm not sure what they are. I think they are from a 306. The pic is below. What does everyone think?

for some reason i also think they look good on 405's.
and i think they came with some 306's too.
p.s. do i suspect 195/50/15 tyres there?

306 XSi, S16, and some of the diesels have them. Same offset as Speedlines and T16 wheels.

I would like Compomotive CX's with polished rims and Gold centres.
But cant justify spending that kinda money - £250 a wheel plus tyres!

Standard Mi16 alloys are ET29 or ET19 for the LeMans. PCD is 108 I think.

Indeed they do!
Dan, what I meant was that you'll need alloys that have the same PCD and offset as the standard alloys.
danrogers
Jun 7 2006, 10:22 PM
oh ok mate i get what you mean! whats ET29 is that thet pcd? do you know about tyres mate?
KRISKARRERA
Jun 7 2006, 10:53 PM
ET29 is the offset. Basically it means the bit of the wheel that touches your brake disc is 29mm out from an imaginary centre line when viewing the cross section of the wheel (OMG how's that for a shit description).
PCD is pitch circle diameter, I think lol. PCD must be 108, anything else simply won't fit
Most Pugs are weird in that their standard wheels stick out alot compared to say Vauxhall or Ford wheels and this is why you often end up needing really thick huncentric spacers if the aftermarket alloy of your choice was made with say a Ford in mind.
I'm crap with tyres, I'm not even gonna say what make is on mine.
I don't understand why pug made Mi16 wheels with a 29mm offset when the 205/309 GTI alloys are 19mm offset and increase the track nicely on a 405. Maybe they thought 205 drivers would steal them. Funilly enough I saw a 205 GTI with Mi16 alloys on it yesterday. I should have shouted out the window "You aint having my fcuking engine though mate!"
